Privacy Policy
For the Wildwoods mobile app · Effective September 2, 2026
The Wildwoods app is operated by Boardwalk Media Group (“we”). This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, and who else sees it. We have tried to keep it specific rather than generic: everything listed below is something the app actually does.
What the app collects
- An anonymous account. The first time you open the app it creates an anonymous account so your saved items have somewhere to live. It is a random identifier. It is not linked to your name, your email, or your device’s advertising ID.
- Your email address and a password — only if you choose to create an account. This is required for one feature only: redeeming coupons. Everything else in the app works without ever giving us an email.
- Your location, while you are using the app and only if you grant permission. It is used to sort places by distance, to show where you are on the map, and to confirm you are actually at a business when you redeem its coupon.
- The businesses and events you save to your favorites.
- Coupon redemptions — which coupon, the time, and the location and GPS accuracy at the moment you redeemed it.
What the app does not collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, payment details, contacts, photos, calendar, health data, or advertising identifier. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs and does not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
More about location
Location is collected only while the app is open. There is no background location tracking.
A location reading is used immediately and is not stored, with one exception: when you redeem a coupon we record where the redemption happened. That record is what lets us enforce the limit of one redemption per coupon per person every 30 days, and it protects participating businesses from fraudulent redemptions.
You can refuse location permission, or turn it off later in your device settings. The app keeps working. You will lose distance sorting, the “you are here” dot on the map, and the ability to redeem coupons, which by design requires being at the business.
Who else handles your data
- Supabase hosts our database and handles account sign-in. Data is stored on servers in the United States.
- Google Maps Platform renders the map and provides information about public places such as restrooms and parking. When the map is on screen, Google receives location data under Google’s privacy policy.
We do not send your data to anyone else. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
Favorites and redemption records are kept while your account exists. Redemption records are retained for at least 30 days because the coupon rules depend on them.
To delete your account and the data attached to it, follow the steps on our account deletion page. In short: email us at wildwoodsvacationapp@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, and we will delete it within 30 days.
If you never created an account, there is nothing tied to you to delete. Removing the app discards the anonymous identifier on your device.
Children
The app is a visitor guide intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and move the effective date at the top.
